6 Things You Should Know About Aluma Trailers

Here at GT, we have been selling Aluma Trailers faster than any others. They never sit on our lot for very long. We love how durable and dependable they are and so do our customers! If you don’t know a lot about Aluma trailers, you are missing out. Here are a few reasons why we love them so much.

I’m going to  take a second to state the obvious here. Aluma trailers are made from aluminum and aluminum doesn’t rust. Boom. It’s really a pretty miraculous thing for all us Michiganders and mid-west people. The four seasons take a toll on our cars, boats, campers and toys. Thank you, Aluma, for providing us with trailers that won’t rust.

LED Lights

A lot of trailer owners like to update their trailers by putting LED lights on them. Their energy efficiency and long life makes them very appealing. And because they are mercury free, they have a much smaller environmental impact than traditional light bulbs. LED lights come standard on all Aluma Trailers. We’re glad that Aluma puts such quality into their trailers.

The average aluminum trailer weighs 25% less than its steel-framed equivalent.  That frees up a considerable amount of your towing capacity so you can use your space on what you’d like. Not to mention that less weight means a higher MPG. If you’re going to buy a trailer, why not purchase one that will be easier on your wallet?

5 Year Warranty

Select Aluma trailers come with this warranty. This covers any defects in the material and workmanship of the unit. In those 5 years after purchase, if there is a problem, you can send it in to Aluma in Bancroft, Iowa. They will determine if the problem falls under the warranty, in which case, they will repair it free of charge. Hey, we think it’s pretty cool that they want to keep customers happy even 5 years after a purchase. Check out the full details of the warranty here.

Though their most popular is the open utility trailer, Aluma makes trailers for everyone. The options are endless with motorcycle, car and snowmobile trailers, Aluminum ATV trailers, car haulers, enclosed trailers and more. When it’s time for you to buy a new trailer, there is no doubt that Aluma can provide what you’re looking for.

Every few months, we get a new batch of Aluma Trailers in stock. Each shipment is around 18-20 trailers. Believe me when I say they sell quick, but we do our best to keep a selection for you! You can look here to see what we currently have stocked and what we have on order for the end of the month.

Don’t see a specific product that you want? No problem. We can order any trailer for you. You can be specific as you want and we will order your custom trailer. It typically takes about 8 weeks for the order to arrive. However, once in a while, Dave (owner of GT) will go pick up trailers in Iowa as an excuse to come visit me! (his daughter in Nebraska) So order away, friends!

Here is a picture of our most recent shipment, including a tow behind motorcycle trailer that got a lot of attention.

Get Hitched Quick With The Swift Hitch Portable Camera System

“A little to the left! No, not that far! Stop… Stop… STOP! Pull forward and start again.”

If you’ve ever hitched a car trailer to your truck, or any trailer for that matter, you’ve probably had a similar conversation. I know all of our readers and customers are exceptional drivers. Obviously you are the best of the best. But still, when sitting in the driver’s seat, it can be downright difficult to get that hitch lined up perfectly on the first try. If only there was a way to see what you are doing. If only we had some cool little device to make this task a whole lot easier…. Wait, we do!!! This Swift Hitch Portable Camera System is pretty amazing and will make life a whole lot easier for all you trailer towers.

3 Benefits of Using the Swift Hitch Camera for Your Car Trailer

1. Magnetic Base

One of the things that makes this camera so easy to use is it’s strong magnetic base. It will easily mount to any steel surface such as your bumper, tailgate or kingpin. The camera is small and solid and built very well. It is durable and adjustable so you can get the perfect angle.

2. Battery life

The battery life on this thing is pretty incredible. When fully charged, it will last for 4 hours. When it’s only being used a few minutes at a time, this will last for many, many hook-ups. We’ve all heard the question “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?” Well, we are wondering “How many hook-ups does it take to kill a Swift Hitch camera battery?”

3. Handheld Monitor

Once your camera is in place, the monitor allows you to see exactly what you are doing. You no longer need a second party to tell you left or right. Back up once and get your hitch in exactly the right place. Want to know another cool thing about this camera? It has night vision to make getting hitched up at night just as easy.

We were so excited to have this camera stocked at Grandville Trailer because WE wanted to play with it. It really makes a big difference when getting hitched to your utility or car trailer. It’s so easy to use and it’s small design makes it possible to store it in the glove box or center console. It saves a lot of time when you are able to get it perfectly lined up on the first time every time!

We want you to see how easy it is to use, So take a look at our video of the camera system.

3 Reasons to Flip Out Over Fastway’s Flip Automatic Jack Foot

Grandville  Trailer is now carrying the Fastway Flip automatic jack foot. This clever tool is time efficient and will save you from headaches and frustration. We love it so much, we even have it set up in our store so you can try it out.

It truly is a great product and here is why we think so.

  1. Quick and easy to install-  The installation of the Fastway Flip jack is a quick one-man job. The Jack comes with instructions that SHOULD be read completely before beginning the process. But let’s face it, most men will toss the instructions aside. The only tools needed to install the jack are two 3/4″ wrenches and a 9/16 wrench.  The 10 minutes it takes you to install this device on your utility trailer will save you a lot of time and irritation in the future. Trust us, it’s worth it.
  2. Say goodbye to 2x4s- One of the biggest complaints we hear from trailer owners is the need to carry blocks of wood or cinder blocks for their trailer. By installing the automatic jack foot, you will free up valuable storage space and eliminate this worry all together.
  3. Simply Automatic- We love how user-friendly this product is. With a few easy turns, the jack will fold down and lock into place, adding 6 inches to your trailer tongue jack.  When its time to hit the road and tow your camper or utility trailer again, the jack will fold back up out of the way. It is quick, safe, strong and quite the time-saver. And let’s face it: most of us aren’t getting any younger. (If you are, we’d love to hear how!)  Getting down to set up those pesky blocks of wood can be hard on your back and knees. Your time and energy is important. So save it for something important.

Here is Fastway’s demo video on their product. And we want to hear from you. Tell us why you think this product is cool, especially if you already have it!
